Outreach

TenMarksTenMarks

This summer, the USC Alumni Club of the North Bay created a partnership between Loma Verde School and TenMarks, a new company that’s changing the way kids practice and learn math online. We provided donated laptop computers for fifteen fifth grade students and Ten Marks offered a free, customized math program for each student. Parents, students, teacherLaurel Golden and principal Eileen Smith loved Ten Marks so much that the entire fourth and fifth grades at Loma Verde School are using it this year in their classrooms. We will follow these students and their math success throughout the year.

No Excuses University

The USC Alumni Club of the North Bay adopted Ms. Laurel Golden’s (USC Alum) 4/5th class at Loma Verde Elementary in Novato, CA. No Excuses University is a network of elementary, middle, and junior high schools that “actively promote a comprehensive model of college readiness to all students the moment they begin elementary school.”

With our last visit to Ms. Golden’s class, the students demonstrated their knowledge of the So-Cal Spellout. Also, Cynthia Christian, Bryan Koeberer, Bill Scully, and Jeff Wong were able to answer  questions about their experiences while at USC.
